MYP Play

With Covid restrictions lessening, we wanted to create a way for the MYP students to come together and create something new. Both Ms. Tara and Ms. Taylor have extensive experience and a deep love for theatre and wanted to share this passion with the students. They got to talking one day, where all great ideas start--the teacher lunch room--and the idea for an MYP spring play was born.

It was a learning journey not only for the students but also for us. I don't think we could be more pleased with the final result, not only the show the students put on but also their dedication, resilience, and creativity.

Special thanks to the cast and crew, Mr. Robert Browne, Mr. Mark Cringle, Ms. Mya Esplin, Ms. Renate Drageide, Ms. Chantale Williams, Ms. Annie Locke, Ms. Hannah Blythern, MYP teachers.

PYP Exhibition

Asker International School held the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition on Wednesday 4th May 2022

It was with great excitement that we were able to hold the PYP Grade 5 Exhibition live again. This event is a celebration of the culmination of learning that has occurred for our Grade 5 students during their time in the PYP.

It was a long journey but it was all worth it when you could see the students in their element. Countless parents were positively commenting on the experience while all students who visited the displays thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The biggest takeaway was how engaged the G5 students were with their topics and how proud they were to talk about them.

Congratulations again on a job well done!

Science Fair

The first AIS science fair went off with a bang (literally, thanks to the hydrogen balloons). Grade 7 deserve huge congratulations for their hard work and enthusiasm. They were the undisputed stars of the day. Not only does it take stamina to stand and present for almost 4 hours straight, but they maintained their roles as IB learners throughout, sharing their knowledge, demonstrating their thinking and being inquirers, risk takers and communicators. Grade 10 also deserves recognition and thanks.

They stayed after school two days running to set up and clear away and the science fair couldn't have happened without them. It's really wonderful to see our oldest students giving up their free time to support younger students in this way, they did a fantastic job. We'd also like to thank all the parents who came to show their support and we're only sorry we didn't have the energy to keep going for longer. Well done grade 7! We're proud of you. Miss Natasha and Miss Elizabeth.

Sports at AIS

This has been a big moment for sports at AIS! The 2022 Nordic League JR Badminton Tournament was held at Oslo International School on April 1st & 2nd. Our AIS team returned with the trophy for third place. The students presented outstanding teamwork, wonderful sportsmanship and great performances on the badminton courts. Well done to our team. Thanks to our parent coaches, thank you to Mr Andrew for organizing this event and thanks to our host, OIS, for a wonderful reception! Well done AIS!

As the PYP Exhibition is fast approaching it's now time for students in Grade 5 to start taking action. Mr Andrew and some G5 boys traveled to Stabekk stadium to meet their football team to talk about racism and equality in sport. A representative from MOT ran the session which was an incredible opportunity for our students to gather important information while also getting the chance to meet their football heroes. We look forward to seeing you at the G5 Exhibition!
