It was time once again for one of my favourite and fun house competitions: The Egg-Drop. 

Each house was allowed to prepare 4 entries for this competition with 3 requirements: Design, process and efficacy. The kids worked really well together over a very short time span and the result was some great egg-smashing fun! Or truth be told it was quite disappointing because their designs were so good, most of the eggs did not break.

The winner of this competition will be announced once we add the scores together and factor in our 3 criteria for success. It was not just about the egg itself, but more the design process and the level of creativity, which I can gladly say were both very diverse and fun!

Today, 13th October, we enjoyed a very nice assembly presented by Miss Debra. Miss Debra asked the students what they had to be grateful for and showed us a video about a man with a significant physical disability. he brought a positive message to the children, explaining that we should celebrate who we are and celebrate what we have. 

The students were encouraged to share what they were grateful for. Feedback came from students from grade 1-6 and the responses included comments like: "I am thankful for my health", "I am thankful for my family", "I am thankful for my school and my teachers", "I am thankful for my environment":

INTERNATIONAL DAY- SEPTEMBER 2014

International Day was a great success and the students were very engaged in the activities during the day. We had a lovely student assembly at 11:00 where the students presented what they had prepared to their peers. It was very colourful and varied, with song, dance, poetry and video.

This was followed with a variety of regional dishes prepared by our parent body in each classroom. It was lovely to see, smell and sample dishes from our wide and varied nationalities. 

Thanks to all for their engagement and enthusiasm during this event. 

A meeting recently took place at the end of September with school representatives and Asker Kommune. Representing the school was head of the board Kerstin Aulund and the head of the parent council, Eivind Sørdal. Representing the kommune was Mayor Lened Conradi and Director of Property Ragnar Slaastad Studsrød.

The school representatives were presenting the status of the school and the projections for expansion. The information was well-received by the kommune and we hope to hear further from them in the near future about the future development of the school.
