Happy 40th Anniversary to one of the local schools, Hagaløkka primary school.

Hagaløkka school is now 40 years, established in 1974. The principal of Akser Internataional School was lucky enough to attend the celebrations and was very impressed with the enthusiasm and engagement of everyone there.

We simply want to wish Bjørn-Erik, all his staff and the children of Hagaløkka school a very happy anniversary. Enjoy the celebrations!

Grade 2 display on homes

Grade 2 have put a very nice display out for all members of AIS community to come see. It is located outside the classroom so please take time to have a look.

grade2 homes

Each student has displayed a different style of home from around the world. This is a great example of an international focus on one of our units, allowing students to also bring their own cultural influence into their learning.

Please make sure you take the time to check out Miss Debra's grade 2 blog, especially the class time section that has great examples of the students in their learning environment.

Performing arts assembly by Miss Kirsti

Miss Kirsti did a wonderful assembly this week with the entire school. It was a very positive experience and one of the few times I have seen the whole school involved in a school assembly.

PA assembly

Each grade came up in front of the school in rotation and presented some of the skills they have been working on in performing arts.

What impressed me the most was the level of engagement of the children. It is not an easy task to get up and perform in front of your peers and it is an important lesson to learn in life. So well done to all the boys and girls and well done miss Kirsti!

Make sure to check out the Performing arts blog on the 'learning at AIS' section of the webpage.
