IB MYP at Asker International School (Grades 6–10)
At Asker International School, our grade 6–10 learners build on the foundation of inquiry from the PYP, developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), students engage with a challenging and globally minded curriculum that prepares them for academic success and nurtures them as active, life-long learners.
A Concept-Driven Learning Journey
The MYP emphasizes conceptual understanding and meaningful connections across subject disciplines. Learning is anchored in global contexts, encouraging students to explore issues that transcend borders and cultures. This fosters international mindedness, helping students see themselves as responsible members of local and global communities.
Skills and Action for Life
Central to the MYP are the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills: critical thinking, collaboration, research, communication, and self-management. Guided by the IB Learner Profile, students grow as open-minded, principled, and caring individuals. Learning extends beyond the classroom, with students taking meaningful action and contributing positively through service and community engagement.
Personal Project & Future Readiness
The program culminates with the Personal Project, an independent inquiry into a topic of personal passion. This capstone experience showcases students’ creativity, initiative, and ability to make a difference. The MYP develops adaptable, resilient and reflective learners ready to apply their learning to real-world challenges.
