Floor 1, Block C
The following video is to provide a small insight into the work being carried out in Block C, floor 1 (where the old science room, nurse office and theatre was). As you can see in the video, almost all walls have already been demolished.
The plan is to build 4 new classrooms, a new theatre and a breakout room. Most of the new classrooms will be designated primarily for senior students, with the theatre being for all.
We are awaiting approval from Asker kommune to commence with the building work once the demolition work has been completed. The documentation was send in over a month ago and we are still awaiting a resolution to finalise the work.
Nurses office
The nurses office is located where Mr. Robert’s office used to be, on the fourth floor. The space has been redesigned to facilitate a better long term solution with two offices and a small waiting area.
PLAYGROUND
A new higher fence has been mounted on the playground, as per the request of members of the community. We managed to complete this work in the mid-term break. More signifcant work is also planned for the summer. Due to the nature of a school, such work can only be carried out when the school is closed. The last partial resurfacing seems to have worked as a solution, so further similar, more extensive resurfacing is planned for this summer. We are also looking at having a separate elevated area for a small football pitch. We are working with a company called CH Prosjekt AS who did the groundwork last year.
Once the groundwork has been succesfully completed, we can start looking making other equipment additions to the area.
